The Edit: My Minimalist Christmas Decor 2025
This Christmas will be special for us — in 2025, our family grew bigger: we welcomed our second child. She’ll be 10 months old by Christmas Eve, so all the decorations and tree ornaments this year will be chosen very carefully, keeping in mind that we have a super active and curious crawling baby girl at home :)
So, textiles and paper - these are the materials that come first to my mind for Christmas tree ornaments: simple, safe, and elegant :) And, a few transparent or silver/mirror-like glass accents for the space’s decoration — safely placed where the baby can’t reach them.

Long story short, here is the final, narrowed-down selection of pieces that caught my attention this year and that I’ll add to our minimalist with a Nordic+Japanese vibe Christmas decor collection. The initial, wider selection is still here, just in case.

This very versatile design by FermLiving is on top of my list this year, as it combines elegance…and safety for the baby :) available in two sizes: large bow and as a set of 2 smaller bows.
The huge Iittala glass Christmas bauble (13 cm in diameter) — funny enough, I actually like it more with the branded ribbon tied on than without, which is unusual for me, since I usually don’t like visible brand names on decor or ornaments.
I’m thinking about hanging them (ot just one…) above the dining table instead of my traditional transparent glass drops from ARKET (still love them, but my brain wants something new…).
These Iittala Glass Christmas tree baubles (Ø4 cm, Set of 5) Christmas decor/tree ornaments are also available in a bigger size. They are very versatile and can be used for many years to come, as they can be easily mixed with a wide range of colors and adapted to different styles.
Another lovely design by Ferm Living - Momento Glass plates or “stones“, I believe they’ll add a beautiful lightplay and a little bit of magic touch to our Christmas table, without overwhelming the whole look.
Cute paper stars by A World Of Craft, available in ARKET, will no doubt add a touch of fun to the whole composition. Available in smaller and larger sizes.
Also, we’ve never had a Christmas tree rug, so I finally decided to buy one — and I think it’s going to be this one: “Oak“ rug by FermLiving, neutral and minimalist, which means I can use it for many years, no matter what decoration ideas come to mind. This rug will work with nearly everything. Also available in a square shape! 2nd option that I really like - this cute rug by Broste Copenhagen.
Aand…
Btw, I still like many pieces from my previous Christmas Decor Edit.
Thank you :)
