The Edit: My Minimalist Christmas Decor 2025

This Christmas will be special for us — in 2025, our family grew bigger: we welcomed our second child. She’ll be 10 months old by Christmas Eve, so all the decorations and tree ornaments this year will be chosen very carefully, keeping in mind that we have a super active and curious crawling baby girl at home :)

So, textiles/ribbons and paper - these are the materials that come first to my mind for Christmas tree ornaments: simple, safe, and elegant :) A few transparent or silver glass accents and maybe a couple of metallic pieces for the space’s decoration — safely placed where the baby can’t reach them.

Long story short, here is the final, narrowed-down selection of minimalistic Christmas decor ideas and pieces that caught my attention this year and which I added to our minimalist collection with a Nordic+Japanese vibe.

Christmas presents wrapping this year - simple and elegant.

Finally, all the Christmas presents are wrapped. This year, I used ivory craft wrapping paper and two types of ribbons - Chiffon Beige (3.8 cm wide) and Silver Shimmering Organza (15 mm wide) - to pack all the presents in a minimalist and elegant way.

Plan for next year: finally start using traditional Japanese furoshiki wrapping. I love the way it looks, the whole idea behind it, and the fact that you can use it year after year without having to buy new rolls of paper every time.

I love simple and elegant green branches more than classic wreaths. This year I added two such branches with black bows/ribbons to the window in our dining area - and that was more than enough for me in terms of living room decoration (+ we have a big chrirtmas tree). Also, as an option, I tried the branches to decorate our fireplace, here is the result (but after all, I decided to go withthe window option):

Bow Christmas decoration / Christmas Tree ornament by FermLiving - This very versatile design by FermLiving is on top of my list this year, as it combines elegance…and safety for the baby :) available in two sizes: large bow and as a set of 2 smaller bows. Used the large bow for our nursery corner decoration and as a Christmas tree topper.

I was also thinking about hanging smth above the dining table instead of my traditional transparent glass drops from ARKET (still love them, but my brain wants something new…), but after giving it a good thought, decided to leave the area above the dining table free of decorations this year...

My “advent wreath“ 2025 :) / a cube-shaped huge candle with four wicks by Zara Home.

My “advent wreath“ this year was super-minimalist; basically, it was just a huge cube-shaped candle with four wicks by Zara Home. You can also find a similar design by FermLiving here.

Update: After the first three weeks, this candle turned out to be not such a cool idea for an Advent wreath, because all the wicks (at least in my candle from Zara Home) fell on one side and there were no longer four separate lights, more like a chaos…

Aand…

Btw, I still like many pieces from my previous Christmas Decor Edit.
